This isolation has severe consequences on both mental and physical health, even reducing life expectancy. In the Netherlands alone, 6 out of 10 elderly in residencies report feeling lonely, highlighting an urgent need for a solution. While technology has the potential to be a tool for connection, they often lack the immersiveness to truly simulate organic experiences and provide meaningful social stimuli that elderly benefit from.

Syndesis is an immersive VR service that brings concerts, sports events, and cultural experiences directly to elderly residents, allowing them to feel the energy, atmosphere, and excitement as if they were truly there. Designed to combat loneliness and social isolation, our platform enables multiple residents to attend events together, fostering meaningful social interactions and a renewed connection with the world. We provide VR headsets to elderly homes and train staff to seamlessly integrate the technology into their activities. During events, staff assist residents with the headsets while monitoring their well-being using Syndesis' specialised platform. In addition to live events, we offer an extensive library of on-demand content for broader access. At Syndesis, we believe in the power of shared experiences.
