I'm open to team members who thrift themselves, understand what inspires our generation, and believe in creating something meaningful. You should be passionate about community, style, and building a space that goes beyond just shopping.
All you can Thrift
All You Can Thrift is inspired by the desire to tackle two major issues facing our generation: the impact of fast fashion and the growing sense of isolation, especially among young people. Since I have roots in Ghana, I’ve seen the consequences of fast fashion up close — entire beaches are covered in discarded clothes, and the people there simply can’t keep up with the amount of waste arriving daily. Thrifting could be a solution, but ever since it became trendy, it’s become overpriced — even though it shouldn’t be, considering we already have more than enough second-hand clothing on this planet. At the same time, over 60% of Gen Z report feeling lonely (Cigna, 2023). I thrift myself, and I’ve noticed how current drifting events are designed just like stores: you pay, you enter, and then you leave. There’s no sense of community, no space to rest, no food, no drinks — just consumption. I know that buying second-hand isn’t a new concept; it’s been around for a long time. But what’s different now is that our generation is more aware than ever of the state of the planet. Thrifting is trending, and instead of letting it become just another overpriced market or short-lived fad, we have a chance to build something meaningful around it — a real community. So no, it’s not a revolutionary invention. But I believe this is the right time to do it differently — and to do it better.
The idea is to create a trifting event that feels like a hangout, not just a transaction. There will be seating areas to rest, food and drinks so people can stay longer, and interactive activities to make it feel fun and social. After each sales day, there’ll be an evening event — from workshops to open mics — to help people connect beyond shopping. I want it to be a place where people discover their own style without following every microtrend, where clothes are affordable and of good quality.
Thrifting is already trending — now’s the time to give it depth, purpose, and soul by turning it into a community-centered experience that’s affordable, welcoming, and rooted in conscious fashion.
